THE SMALL PRINT, CONSIDERED
Terms of service
A guide to buying furniture and leather bags from Studio Lucent Interiors, and working with the studio on a quoted interior design project.
Updated Version 2026-10-18
Selections and orders
Check your chosen size, material, colour, quantity and contact details before submitting an order. You can review and correct your selections before proceeding. Adding a piece to your cart does not reserve stock or complete a purchase.
The store checks current prices and availability for the selections you submit. An order reference confirms a saved request, not payment or a delivery date. If a price or option needs clarification, contact the studio before paying.
Prices and VAT
Prices are in South African rand (ZAR). Studio Lucent is not VAT-registered and does not charge VAT on its sales. Delivery is shown separately and included in the final payable total; the shipping policy explains carrier costs and delivery quotes.
Promotions and coupons
Product promotions and coupons use South African Standard Time (SAST, UTC+02:00), including the whole start and end dates shown. A promotion uses its stated price during that window and the regular price outside it.
You may apply one optional coupon to a product order, not an individually quoted design service. Coupons discount products only unless their terms expressly include delivery costs. A delivery-inclusive coupon discounts the products plus the confirmed total of any Small and Large delivery charges. Any minimum items subtotal always excludes delivery and is checked after product promotions and before the coupon discount. Combining a coupon with promotional product prices is allowed only where that coupon’s terms permit it.
A fixed discount is capped once at the eligible amount. A percentage discount is calculated once on that eligible amount and rounded down to cents, not rounded separately for products and each delivery charge. If delivery is included, all delivery costs must first be confirmed: wait for the final quote, then apply the code before an invoice is issued or payment starts. An unknown delivery charge is never treated as free.
Total and per-customer limits include pending payment attempts. A per-customer limit requires sign-in with a verified email address, not a guest email entered at checkout. Preparing a payment form reserves a use; returning or cancelling in the browser, expiry of a stock reservation, elapsed time or a refund does not restore that use. This does not limit statutory refund rights.
Before a payment form is prepared, an expired or changed offer needs an updated review. Afterward, the saved price and coupon terms are retained for verification of that payment, even after the offer ends. Do not pay again while a payment is pending; ask the studio to check it.
Payment through a hosted provider
The studio submits the full confirmed order total to your chosen hosted payment provider; the store does not split the order into deposits or instalments. Any payment plan offered separately by that provider is subject to its eligibility requirements and terms. Delivery must be confirmed and the complete total shown before payment can proceed. The final payable amount is the items subtotal plus confirmed delivery, less any eligible coupon discount, and must be at least R5.00. There is no zero-amount checkout or promise of a free entire order, even for a coupon that includes delivery. A discount that would leave less than R5.00 is rejected, not silently reduced; remove it or use another eligible code. Your provider handles payment details; the store does not collect bank-login credentials, card numbers or card security codes.
Check the payment status on your private order page. An order is paid only when the payment has been verified; returning from a provider or receiving an invoice is not proof of payment. A checkout labelled sandbox is a test, not a live charge. Do not pay again or switch providers while an original payment remains pending.
Consultations and 3D visualisation
Nationwide on-site consultations and 3D visualisation are individually scoped and quoted. The studio team prepares the visuals; submitting a form does not automatically create a render, book a visit or incur a fee.
Review the scope, consultation and travel fees, deliverables, revisions, timing, quote expiry and cancellation or rescheduling terms before accepting. Acceptance and payment are separate steps, and appointments are arranged with the studio. An expired quote or changed scope needs an updated agreement.
Materials and measurements
Timber grain, leather markings and fabric texture or colour can vary. Screen settings also affect appearance; ask about the relevant material or finish if unsure. Natural variation does not excuse defective goods or a material departure from the agreed description, specification or sample.
Check dimensions and tell us about room measurements, doorways, stairs and delivery restrictions. Ask for guidance before ordering if fit is uncertain. This guidance does not transfer responsibility for the studio’s own work or remove any duty imposed by law.
Production, delivery and changes
The current production and delivery estimates shown for your selected product take priority over older product or collection descriptions. Production and delivery are separate stages; Ready to dispatch does not mean immediate delivery. Agree any required delivery date before ordering. See the shipping policy for defaults and arrangements and the refund policy for changes, cancellations and statutory remedies.
Accounts and project material
Provide accurate details and keep passwords and private order, project and document links confidential. Anyone holding a relevant private link may be able to view its records or use available quote actions. Only upload files you are entitled to share, and contact us if you suspect unintended access.
Our privacy policy explains the information we use, browser storage and your choices.
Your rights and these terms
South African law applies, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) where applicable. Nothing here excludes statutory remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. You may seek assistance from the relevant consumer authority or ombud.
The date and version identify this wording for new orders and agreements. Earlier recorded consents and issued documents retain their original version and terms. A later policy update does not retrospectively change agreed order or quote terms or remove rights you already have.
